Low self esteem and Body image

What a beautiful part of our life is the teenage part. Going through a drastic change ,physically as well as mentally. Curious about many things, want to experiment out, incessant mind and basically want to live our cool life. But while we're too busy in ourselves we very often end up ignoring somethings , which we feel are petty and doing just for fun,  but sometimes they are not.

During teenage we often go some dark shades of our life , for instance depression, body shaming, sexual urge, first heartbreak, rejection, not being called a "cool kid ", low self-esteem, bullying and etc.,

So in this blog I've discussed a few points on low self-esteem and body image

Many of us go through this. But is this something inborn? Or do we learn it? Or does our mind probably comes up with "hey buddy why don't you try this?" (Definitely not)
So what plays a pivotal role in this is our surrounding and people around us

1.Teachers
I know , not many will agree with me on this but it's a sad reality. Some teachers (not all) try to reach out to only smart kids and often ignoring the slow learners. Some teachers even mock kids infront of the whole class for not being smart enough, making them feel embarrassed and thus inducing a sense of worthlessness.

2.Parents
No doubt are parents love us more than anything in this world but sometimes their decisions to make their kids excel in everything they end up hurting their own children. Comparisons made between siblings, cousins or someone else, shouting on them for petty things, again and again reminding them that he/ she will be nothing but a failure and is good for nothing often leads in decrease of self worth and self esteem.

3.Friends
Not everybody is your friend. A friend is someone who will try to build you up, will hide your flaws and not display them infront everyone. We often end up saying that our friends know us better than our parents(they agree to you because they're going through the same phase of life ) but no that's not true.  Always remember that a good friend will try to help you out and motivate you and not demotivate you. The biggest problem between friends nowadays is bad mouthing behind each other's back. Surely choose your friend wisely and remember the way to talk to you about others, will be the way they'll talk about you with others .

4.Social Media
Don’t believe everything you see!
What you see on social media is not always authentic. Always question what you see or read about, that’ll help you understand the other side of the story. Teens nowadays are so concerned about the followers and likes they poses on social media sites, it should never determine your worth in this world. Work towards your passion and rest everything will follow.

So what can we do?
1.Stop the comparison
Everybody has a unique, I would rather say a mystique personality. Each one of us are wrapped in wanders, waiting to be unwrapped.
So stop comparing yourself with others and even stop comparing someone with someone else.
So go follow your dreams ,it can be anything like sketching, being a sportsperson, musician, even being a farmer because why not? It is pursue what you love and success will follow you not instantly but surely.

2.Acceptance
When you accept yourself first then only you'll be able to accept others. Try to accept others in whatever culture they're comfortable in (not to be misunderstood with bad habits). Instead of pulling each other down stand tall together.

3.Negligence
Neglecting what others say about your body, your work , your looks and enjoying your own company and of others who make you happy is what even one can do.

4.Assertive
Saying "No" to something will not make you sound rude. But it gives you a sense of self-worth, builds your confidence and helps to make sound decisions. Keeping someone in a chimera is much better than being assertive.

Don't worry about your looks, personality, your thoughts, your passion, your work . Be clear about them and take a little pride in being "You". Not everyone is perfect and not everyone is a connoisseur
